Access & Entry:
Our makerspace is a locked facility that provides 24/7 access exclusively to members.
- RFID Key Fobs: Each member is issued an RFID key fob granting entry at any time.
- No Public Open Hours: The space is not open to the general public. Prospective members should follow our How to Join process.
Tool & Equipment Usage:
Our tools and equipment are shared resources meant to foster creativity, learning, and innovation.
- Training & Certification: Some tools may require training or instruction before use.
- Sign-Up for 3D Printers: Currently, only 3D printers need to be reserved. This is managed via the
3d-printer-usage-coordination
channel on our Discord server. Post your request, follow the instructions, and wait for confirmation.
- Proper Care: Use equipment responsibly, follow all safety guidelines, and return tools and materials to their proper storage areas.
Member-Owned Tools & Machines:
Members are allowed to bring in and use their own tools and machines, subject to the following rules:
- Labeling: All member-owned tools and machines must be clearly labeled with the owner’s name to distinguish them from makerspace-owned property.
- Permission for Use:
- Any tool or machine labeled with a member’s name requires the owner’s explicit consent before use.
- This policy ensures that safety concerns are addressed, and any necessary training is provided by the tool’s owner.
- Usage Without Consent:
- Using another member’s tool or equipment without their permission is strictly prohibited and considered a violation of facility use policies.
- Members found using another’s tools without consent will be subject to reprimand, which may include suspension of facility privileges.
- Safety Considerations: Owners may impose specific safety requirements or restrictions for their tools, including limiting usage to trained individuals.

Clean-Up & Maintenance:
A clean, well-maintained facility benefits everyone.
- Daily Clean-Up: Leave your workspace as you found it, disposing of waste, returning tools, and wiping down surfaces.
- Equipment Issues: Immediately report broken tools or maintenance needs so we can address them promptly.
Respecting Others & Noise Levels:
We aim to keep our environment welcoming and mindful of all members.
- Noise Consideration: While the space operates 24/7, be respectful of others’ work. Use headphones for music and avoid unnecessarily loud activities.
- Shared Spaces: Others may be recording, focusing on delicate tasks, or working on sensitive projects. Keep distractions to a minimum.
Policy Updates & Compliance:
Our facility use policies are subject to change as we grow and evolve.
- Stay Informed: Check our website, Discord announcements, or signage for policy updates.
- Enforcement: Noncompliance with these policies may result in restricted access, suspension, or termination of membership privileges.
By adhering to these Facility Use Policies, all members help maintain a secure, organized, and inspiring makerspace that supports creative pursuits around the clock.
